The e-assessment service will be fully operational from 2016, under a five-year contract. It will make online assessments available for students worldwide and provide a more flexible route into the profession.
Adrian Pulham, CIPFA’s director of education and membership, said: ‘We chose Calibrand as they provided the best overall solution to the challenges CIPFA faces as it expands globally.
‘We are confident that they will deliver an excellent service to CIPFA and those studying with us. We are particularly confident in their delivery as their marking, essay and case-study examination solutions fitted very closely with our existing methodology.’
From December 2015, financial accounting and management accounting modules will be tested by e-assessment. By June 2016, the full CIPFA syllabus will be rolled out.
The institute said that the same level of competence would still apply and there would be no dropping of standards.
