Northern Ireland Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Michelle O’Neill has launched a grant to ensure people living in remote areas have access to safe and affordable drinking water.
Currently, funding of up to £10,000 is available to connect rural households to the public water mains, but this still left some facing large costs.
The grant scheme will allow homeowners and landlords to apply for funding to excavate private borewells.
